Roman Glory came in second so those with an each-way bet will have cashed in there. Stuart hit the nail on the head with Expresso Star in the Nottingham 3.40 though, for a nice end to the day's racing

Brighton

2.30 - There are plenty of these with chances on paper but I think that it is likely to come down to a shortlist of three. Phoenix Enforcer is going in the right direction at the moment, and proved that with a decent third last time out. She led at the start of the race but was then headed 6f out only to bounce back again to take the lead from the half way point. She then edged left as she weakened slightly and was headed entering the last 2f before dropping into third as she had no extra to give. It was an encouraging display and she should give a good account of herself today.

Midnight In May was slowly into his stride and missed the break on debut last time out. He then latched onto the back of the group 4f out and stayed on nicely from the 1f pole, but unfortunately could get no nearer than fifth. He was not given a hard time by his jockey in the race and can improve significantly from that performance today.

My tip goes to Roman Glory who is another going in the right direction. In his last start he chased the leaders and was ridden over 2f out, he then found himself without a clear run inside the final furlong and he stayed on at the same pace to the finishing pole. He has raced at a level above this and if running to form should take all the beating today.

Nottingham

3.40 - This looks to be a good opportunity for Expresso Star to make it a hat-trick of wins today. After his facile 15 length victory a couple of races ago he followed that up with an impressive win last time out. He tracked the leaders and was going well and made smooth headway to take the lead over 2f out. He was then ridden clear over 1f out and was eased down to claim a 5 length victory. If he can run up to those levels today he will be hard to stop. Of the rest Blue Spinnaker and Suits Me look the biggest dangers.
