Phil Ivey has won the LA Poker Classic held at the Commerce Casino, finally breaking his World Poker Tour duck.
Ivey previously held the record for most WPT final tables with seven, but this is his first tournament win in the high profile event.
The event attracted 655 players, contributing to a total prizepool of $6,374,400. For first place Ivey, regarded by many as the finest tournament poker player in the world, scooped $1,596,100.
Phil Hellmuth also made the final table, but finished in sixth place, with another big name Nam Le finishing in fourth.
