Latest Asia Pacific Poker Tour stop is Sydney, Australia and local player Grant Levy takes it down

Grant Levy has pocketed a handsome one million Australian dollars after becoming Sydney’s first ever PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Champion at Star City Casino, Sydney, after taking out a field of 561 players including four world champions.

Grant, 28-year-old teacher and father of two from Penrith, has been honing his poker skills online, which paid dividends as he triumphed in front of a home crowd, including his adoring wife and proud brother.

As the first Aussie to become a poker millionaire on home soil, Grant said of his win, “to be honest I am still taking it all in, but it’s unbelievable to think that I have taken on some of the world’s greats and come out on top.
